The brief

MK Permanence Juridique et Médiation offers legal advice and mediation. The practice wanted a website it could keep up to date on its own, covering its services, its news and a simple way for people to get in touch. The people updating it would be legal professionals, not web editors, so the editing had to feel simpler than a typical content management system.

What I delivered

  • The public website: fast and readable, with a contact form that reaches the practice by e-mail
  • MK Admin, a private portal where the team edits its pages, publishes, manages who has access and adjusts the site's settings

Every piece of content is either a draft or published. There is no approval step: whoever has access publishes.

How I approached it

Rather than hand the practice a generic back office, I built a portal shaped around its own pages, so the team only ever sees what it actually edits. The public site and the portal read the same content, so there is one source of truth and nothing to copy by hand.

Access was the part I was most careful about. Being signed in is not enough to get into the portal; the address also has to be on a list the practice controls.

Lessons

A dedicated portal takes longer to build than a ready-made editor, and it was worth it here. Clients who are not technical will only keep a site alive if updating it feels like part of their job, not a chore.
